Don't Forget Thursday's EC Meeting at the HQ!!

As we get ready for another Central Texas Summer, I think about the idea that this is supposed to be a politically "off year," and can't help but laugh. Here in Williamson County, we're amping up to be busier than ever before. We've got candidates to recruit, money to raise, parades to walk in, and a whole lot of fun to have!

All of our committees are hard at work preparing for the kind of election year organization that we've never seen before in WilCo! From training development and volunteer identification to research and candidate recruitment to rehauling our website and communications strategy. There's a real sense of excitement and urgency among Williamson County Democrats and I'm so proud to be a part of it!

This Thursday will mark June's Executive Committee Meeting, and we have a lot of exciting things to talk about. I want to invite all of you to come and take a look at the plans that we're putting together. We'll also be collecting canned food and other non-perishable items for Joyce White's meals for the hungry in the Bartlett area. For suggestions on what to bring, see the article below.

Don't forget to come early and bring $10 for the pre-meeting Chili that Stephanie Schindler is putting together! The meeting starts at 7:00 pm and Chili will be served at 6:30 pm.

Collecting Non-Perishable Food for Joyce White's Feed the Hungry Project at HQ

Our very own, Joyce White, has been living out the Democratic ideals that we all work so hard to support. Joyce found a need in her community and is doing something to fill it. When she found that there were people in her community who were going hungry, because they didn't have the funds or ability to make their own meals, Joyce stepped up and decided to take action. For the past month, she has been making meals every week and delivering them to folks in her community for free. What started out as 7 people, has now grown to 30.

As Democrats and friends, I'd like to ask all of you to stop by the HQ and drop off non-perishable goods to help Joyce in her efforts. If you'd rather bring money, we'll collect it and go to Costco on Friday to buy items not donated. If you're coming to the EC meeting on Thursday, it would be a perfect opportunity to drop some things off.

The things that Joyce is looking for are:

Canned Soups

Boxed chicken/beef broth

Canned fruit and vegetables

Tomato sauce and paste

Peanut butter

Canned tuna/salmon

Olive/Canola oil

Pasta

Rice

Dried beans/black-eyed peas

Large tea bags

Mayonaise/Catsup/Mustard

Bottled pimentos

Pam

Take-out foam dishes w/ dividers
